1967 Wilbur Wood Game-Worn, Signed White Sox Flannel Jersey (Rare Style)

The Chicago White Sox have always been on the cutting edge style-wise. When innovator Bill Veeck is the owner, you never know what might be up his sleeve next.
In 1967 and '68 the White Sox added a little, aesthetically speaking, to the their flannels when they adopted an underscored name on front replacing the plain-block variety used from '64-66.
Wilbur Wood enjoyed a four year span which he won 90 games - 1971-74 and pitched at the big league level for 17 seasons. During the middle of his career, Wood learned the nuances of the knuckleball from one of the pioneers of the pitch Hoyt Wilhelm. With his new pitch, Wood dominated the competition.
Offered is the size "42" MacGregor flannel which served Wood for the 1967 season - his first in the Windy City. Style and substance are both satisfied with this offering. Whether it be the chenille built into the underscored "White Sox" name on front or the NOB (the White Sox were the first team to use them), both ends of the spectrum are covered. The NOB has been restored.
The jersey shows consistent season-long use with moderate puckering on the single-color navy blue identifiers. Gorgeous white/navy blue/white braiding surrounds the neckline. It appears the original buttons are firmly in-place on front.
Sewn in the collar is a MacGregor size tag while the inner tail has a MacGregor Set 2 1967 label and nearly undecipherable washing instructions tag.
Wood kindly signed the front in black felt tip.
"WOOD" is expressed on the verso in single-color navy tackle twill. There is a slight run near the top right inside edge of the "D". Built in ventilation holes are administered to the underarms to help combat those sweltering hot summer day games.
The White Sox have always been at the forefront of styles, some which went awry (remember those Disco Era jerseys with those softball shorts) but at times they did get it right. Count this offering as a home run.

This garment was worn during a Premier League fixture during the 2007/8 season. Manchester United won a famous double in 2007/8, winning both the English Premier League & the UEFA Champions League. When closely inspected, you will find minor signs of use throughout. Additionally, this garment posesses a slight odor, presumably from match wear. Naturally, this garment features several key authentication identifiers that distinguish it as Rooney's match garment. Authentication notes have been provided below. Anders Hedberg - Stall and Dean Mesh, size 52. Rare "New York" style. This has been in a private collection for the last 20 years. Stall and Dean wash tags in the collar and also Cosby tags. The stripes are blue because it was washed in warm water by the Rangers, many jerseys from this era like this.

This black Orioles cap has the team “Oriole” embroidered on top in team colors black, orange and white. On the inner band is the “New Era” manufacturers tag with “the 5950.” Adjacent is the size “7-3/8” tag.
Player number “8” is written under the brim in black marker. The cap shows game-use with light sweat staining under the brim and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Signed under brim blue sharpie in person. Obtained personally from "Doc" Gerin directly from the Orioles clubhouse.

Edgerrin James made himself into a household name when he attended the University of Miami. By the time he was ready for the NFL, the Colts were more than happy suitors for his abilities.
This size "48" Nike Hurricanes jersey was worn by James at the "U". Great running back wear is visible on the shoulder numerals. There are a few hit scrapes and contact marks on the right dazzle cloth shoulder region. James signed the edge of the nameplate in black felt tip. There are also a few hit marks on the opposite shoulder number.
All of the identifiers are heat-pressed. "JAMES" is applied to an elongated nameplate. Sewn on the front is a "The Big East" patch (pulling away on one side) and Nike manufacturer's logo.
Sewn in the collar is a Nike size tag.

Cedric Benson saved his NFL career with a remarkable 2009 season.
The Cincinnati Bengals were pleasantly surprised with Benson's output - 1,251 yards and six touchdowns in only 13 games.
This size "50" jersey was worn by Benson when he was busting through for the University of Texas. Worth special mention is the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl patch sewn on the left breast. Because it features the patch, it was either worn during the game or during the season and served as a backup for the bowl contest. The case can be stated for either.
Outstanding running back use is shown on the offered pullover with two team repairs on the left dazzle cloth shoulder. Portal mesh is built into the body. There are a few contact marks on the shoulders as well. All of the identifiers are heat pressed in single-color white. "BENSON" is affixed to an elongated nameplate on back.
An "XII" patch is sewn over the right breast while the opposite side has a Nike manufacturer's logo. Both sleeve ends are linemen cut. Sewn in the collar is a Nike size tag and "L" flag tag.

1975 Rollie Fingers Game-Worn, Signed A’s Jersey

Rollie Fingers was able to end rallies. Before closers only pitched and innning to secure a win, they were forced to go two or sometimes three innings to keep the opposition at bay.
With that unmistakable handlebar mustache was Rollie Fingers. When Fingers entered the fray, it was over.
This size "44" jersey was worn by the Hall of Famer closer during the 1975 season - a year he qualified for the All-Star team. The team wore white at home but also donned yellow and green alternate jerseys.
Wonderful, season-long, use is exhibited on this pullover. Moderate puckering is exposed on the two-color tackle twill numbers.
"FINGERS" is expressed across the verso in single-color white tackle twill and sewn directly to the back.
Yellow and green surrounds the sleeve ends while yellow/white/yellow braiding decorates the V-neck.

These size "14" turf shoes were used by Tom Terrific when he was cutting his teeth with the Pats. Decent use is shown on the shoes. Dirt is embedded on the bottoms. "12" is written on the heels in black marker for identification and on the bottom of the shoes.
Brady signed one of the shoes in black felt tip.
According to the Nike inventory tag, these were made "2-23-00". Also worth mention is the "Pat Pending For Pats" on the tag as well.
Brady game-worn items are nearly non-existent.

1992 Lawrence Taylor Game-Worn, Signed Giants Jersey

Lawrence Taylor struck the feel of God in the opposition. The man who revolutionized the sport of football is considered the greatest defensive player to grace the gridiron.
It was Taylor who willed the Giants to two Super Bowls and so many memorable moments throughout his Hall of Fame career.
In the 10th game of the '92 season, he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Not one to let an injury decide when he would be done with the game, Taylor came back in '93 and put the finishing touches on his remarkable career.
This home jersey was worn when Taylor entertained crowds in New York. A tremendous amount of use is exhibited on the size "44" pullover with at least three team repairs on the shoulders/left breast region.
Worth special mention is the circular repair on the dazzle cloth shoulder. This is consistent with known repairs according to one hobby source.
All of the identifiers are heat pressed, and "TAYLOR" is expressed on a nameplate. Apex logos are sewn on the sleeve ends. Apex only outfitted the team in 1992 and '93 during Taylor's career.
Sewn in the tail is a Gerry Cosby Athletic Outfitters tag and size identifier. A "92" year swatch appears near the manufacturer's tag as well. The Giants 1993 team yearbook will be forwarded to the top bidder. A photo on page 66 shows a lineman wearing a similarly tagged jersey.
The jersey was signed by Taylor at the 2010 San Jose football spectacular in silver paint pen.
Overall, one of the better Taylor game-used jerseys from the twilight of his unforgettable career.
